Through this contribution, Butler High School’s cooking classes will receive upgraded cookware, enabling students to enhance their culinary skills. Resource classrooms will benefit from flexible seating, lighting improvements, and exercise balls, creating an adaptable and engaging learning atmosphere. At Demmitt Elementary School, young learners will have access to new books that promote inclusion, acceptance, and the beauty of differences. VBAA is also helping maintain a cherished tradition—the senior photo display that graces Butler High School’s lawn, celebrating the achievements of graduating students.
“The Vandalia-Butler Alumni Association is proud to announce its recent donation to VISIONS, a local initiative dedicated to supporting educational projects for Vandalia-Butler students of all ages,” said Amy DeCamp, VBAA president and a 1983 Butler graduate. “By supporting VISIONS, the VBAA is helping to ensure that students have access to innovative learning opportunities and resources that will prepare them for success in their academic and personal endeavors.”
Beyond the VBAA’s specific gift, the Vandalia-Butler Foundation has awarded an impressive $31,314 in educational grants in 2025—setting a new record for supporting classroom innovation and ensuring that students in Vandalia-Butler City Schools are equipped with the tools they need to thrive.
